Ellora Caves – A World Heritage Site and Temple – Aurangabad

Details:  Proceed for guided excursion of extraordinary caves of Ellora (closed on Tuesday), carved by Buddhist, Hindu and Jain monks between 7th and 13th centuries. Three million cubic feet of stone was chiseled away to create a giant monolithic temple considered one of the wonders of the ancient World. A short distance away from Ellora Caves lies Ghrishneshwar Temple. It enshrines one of the 12 jyotirlingas dedicated to Shiva. The temple walls are richly sculptured.
